Holy smokes are we slackers or what, no post since October? Wonder if anyone still checks this or has myspace totally monopolized the band website market?

Anyway, Sam and I are about to rev it up again (how many times have you heard that HA!) We have our first show in SEVEN count them 7 months! Friday March 30th @ Chelsea’s with Breaker 1-9. Sure we will be rusty and out of shape, but wait wait wait we have something to make up for it....our first new tunes in 2 years! We have been writing a ton and have worked up at least two (as of now) for the live set. And more will be added quickly for the rest of the upcoming shows.

In other news the album is now on iTunes, guess we should have sent a post, see I told you we have been slacking. But some people have already found it, thank you to all those who have bought it, iTunes or otherwise. We have a goal to have something new out relatively soon, will keep you posted. If you are bored you can go leave a comment on the iTunes site.

Other news...We shot some sort of promotional video for Presonus at our studio, we will post it when it is finished.

SO our good pal Fred Weaver is making a load of internet stink about this old song from 1980 called "Everybody's got to Learn Sometime" by a band called The Korgis. He claims I look exactly like the singer (see above). While I agree there is a resemblance, more importantly the song is AWESOME! Also, apparently Beck covered it for the movie “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind” in his best Neil Diamond. But the original is far far better. So haunting and has a bit of the Blade Runner strings. (I think the DX7 was the synth in vogue at the time)

Thanks to everyone who came out and rocked with us at The Caterie. Plenty of new friends!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO SHOWED UP, SWEAT AND DANCED with us last Friday at the Red Star. That was an incredible great time and we all raised a ton of money for the Baton Rouge Battered Women’s Center.

Doubleheader this weekend with a band from Oxford, Ms named Colour Revolt. Don’t know too much about these guys other than our friend Eric from Always the Runner says they are incredible. First on Friday 9/1 we are heading back to our new favorite place The Thirsty Hippo in Hattiesburg, MS. We played there a few weeks back with The Squirms and everyone was so warm and welcoming we were smitten quick. Then on Saturday 9/2 we bring it home to the 225 @ The Spanish Moon again with Colour Revolt.

Ok so it’s not quite a double header being two shows on one day but for us old men it will seem like it!

Coming up we have two more shows in September including our BIG RETURN TO NOLA on the 15th! More on that to come so save the date.

Sam and I will be playing the Spanish Moon this Saturday July 15th with the new incarnation of Macrosick, “Club of the Sons.” Last time we played with these guys we were blown away and can’t wait to hear the new sound they have conjured up. You can check a preview at myspace.com/clubofthesons.

So for some RIS news, we have been writing new tunes and have 4-5 solid ideas. I am so pumped about the new songs and can’t stop listening to them on my long commute to work! What do the sound like you ask? Hmmm, more clear, more dance, more epic maybe we’ll get some previews up before they debut!

Also we have been selling off a lot of equipment in the old studio in order to make room for a new friend. The friend is not definite yet, but when he arrives I will give a full profile with pics for you gearheads.

Thanks for all your emails and hopefully we will get some road shows coming to see you this fall.

As always, be good,
Noah d

P.s. The picture above is a machine used to monitor customers in a dressing room I snapped in England. Sam loves “HiTech” things like this.

I love the internet. A friend of ours was searching for our website but couldn’t exactly remember the name of the band....I know, I know it is tough to remember / get wrong....So she typed in “Sam & Noah.” And whoa-la she happened onto this incredible site of two other “Noah Sam’s!!!” Check it here. Seems the two cool cats above are our younger counterparts. The odd part is how much the boys resemble us! Sam already looking like the statesman and me with a mic in my hand. So good....

Send us any other cool links you may think we’ll like.

No shows confirmed until July 15, at the moon with the new incarnation of Macrosick named Club of the Suns. But we’ll update the site and myspace once things firm up.

Meanwhile we are hard at work writing new tunes, and are they are even more rockin than the old ones! And I thought we had a hard time before making it through our set, HA! Stay tuned for some previews......

Fest For All was amazing. Thank you to everyone who came and we are so pumped about all the new friends we met!

Harlan Harlan Harlan! How good is that band? Some of our favorite Baton Rouge-ians (How would you spell that?), amazing artists, killer album and we get to play with them twice this week! Check 'em at the old myspace.

First up this Thursday night at the new Chelsea’s we will have the first match of the BATTLE ROY-AL. Dave has the new place kicking and Sam and I have been anxious to bring the rock to the new home. Show starts at 10:30.

Then the rematch will be on Saturday in Lafayette at Cafe Cottage. Last time we played there with Fred Weaver it was brilliant. Hopefully we will be able to bring back the dance. We’ll lace up our trainers extra tight! Again show is at 10:30-ish.

For the 2 & 1/2 (If you count Fest For US) time we are going to be playing the Downtown Baton Rouge music and art celebration Fest For All. Last year we met a load of new friends. We thought it was funny that even the little ones were shaking and swaying by their parents side. ROCK is universal I guess.

At 2:30 on Sunday May 7th we will hit the Budweiser stage. You can check out the other awesome bands and directions here and a PDF map of the stages is here.

What’s with that picture you ask? Well, that is me standing in front of what I believe to be Kling Klang studios home of Kraftwerk in Dusseldorf, Germany. Many of of you may know of my love for the pioneering late seventies electronic band, but others just may know them providing the theme music to Mike Myers Saturday Night Live skit “Sprockets.”

Kraftwerk are a famously private band, few people have ever been invited into their studio much less know where it is. But I used my web sleuthing skills to find an address of Mintropstraße 16. Our cab driver had no clue where the street was. And all I knew was the address, that it was in the Red Light District (which I guess is not well know either) and that there is a Klein Paris neon sign (featured in the Neon Lights video) across the street.

Dusseldorf wound up being a much larger city than I expected. We wove through many streets and it looked like we would never find this small mythical street. But suddenly we stopped! No markings on the building, of course, but there was a driveway which no other building had, making it convenient to load and unload equipment. I don’t know what if expected to find clues once there, but I was still suspicious that this was the building. I had Denise snap this picture of me and hoped back into the cab. The driver must have been so confused to have me ask to go to some shady building have my picture snapped and jump back in.

As we drove off I looked to the left and saw the Eiffel Tower sign of Klein Paris! Indeed it must have been Kling Klang!

Denise and I are traveling through Europe, providing we can find internet connections, will post what we find.

Riot on,

WHOA thank you to all of you who rocked it with us on Saturday that show was MEGA SPECIAL. Slobot killed and we initiated their new drummer / trianglist Glen in the Mark III.

So this Saturday is the Transitions BMX bike fest. I went last year to watch Justin Bailey and was floored by the rad ramps and street demos. If you got a bike you can sign a waiver and ride. There is a ton of LSU events that day so parking me be tough, but there is a large lot behind Kirby Smith dorms.

be good,
